All things art
Life – We Get the Picture is the theme of this year’s Nando’s Creative Exchange exhibition, in partnership with Spier Arts Trust, which opens on 14 October at AVA Gallery in Cape Town and runs until 25 November. The group exhibition displays works by four emerging artists, Adrian Owen, Eric Rantisi, Llise Dodd and Mongezi Ncombo.
For those who can’t attend in person, the exhibition artworks can be viewed virtually on the Latitudes Online website: latitudes.online/nandos_creative_exchange. Plus, there will be a panel discussion, Artists’ Resilience, taking place on 28 October at Basha Uhuru Creative Uprising, fired up by Nando’s, which will feature artists who have taken part in Nando’s Creative Exchange over the years.
The Nando’s Creative Exchange was established in 2011 to recognise emerging, Southern African fine artists who demonstrate exceptional ability. The programme offers select artists exhibition and mentorship opportunities, with art materials sponsorship and an opportunity to have work translated in a different medium in collaboration with the Spier Artisan Studios. All of this is aimed at developing artists’ professional practice.
The Artists’ Resilience panel discussion will form part of the Nando’s Creative Conference at Basha Uhuru on 28 October.
Resilience is one of the most important qualities an artist requires. Join this panel discussion hosted by SAFM presenter Michelle Constant to hear from Ludumo Maqabuka, Nkosinathi Quwe, Qhama Maswana, Robyn Pretorius and Wonder Martinus.
There are 50 tickets available to attend live, and the option of streaming the event wherever you are.
The Creative Conference will also include:
